Response to Chamber of Commerce Survey

A Chamber of Commerce survey released today indicates that as many as 140,000 Virginia Beach residents may be concerned about jet noise. Since the majority of Virginia Beach residents live outside of the city's high noise zones, that figure is quite an eye-opener, and suggests that CCAJN estimates of impacted residents -- made over the past six years -- have been essentially correct.

Incidentally, the Chamber research does not include those residents of Chesapeake who are adversely impacted by jet noise.

Since CCAJN was founded six years ago, organizations such as the Chamber have regularly and repeatedly belittled CCAJN's estimates of affected residents, claiming that our representations have been grossly exaggerated.

In fact, those who oppose CCAJN's agenda have claimed that we are but a small handful of citizens.

The Chamber has now put that issue to rest!

Today's Chamber research demonstrates that we are indeed a very sizable minority in Virginia Beach, which is exactly what we have always maintained.

More about today's Chamber research in forthcoming News Service messages.
